Essentially Pointless

(Ski Racks To Make Yourself)
: Good site. Thank you!
This is just the latest in a series of unusual postings that have been made to this forum over the last few weeks.
I cannot for the life of me why someone would make a posting that is essentially pointless.
The original thread was started over a year ago. Why bother going to the trouble of finding it and then posting a response that doesn't fit the thread? The IP address that was recorded for this posting is '61.213.147.160' (Japan) but when I pinged that IP address the return ping came back from a totally different IP address. '192.72.125.251' (Taiwan).
The image is bogus, the link is bogus and the IP addresses are probably forged. The technique is called IP masquerading and it is a simple thing to do, but why bother? What is the point?
The point of this posting is ambiguous. I suspect that the idiot who is doing this is simply an idiot but I don't want to awaken one morning to find a zillion pointless postings, so I am going to change this forum so that a profile is required. This means that the idiot who is doing this will have to get a legit email address and make a profile before they can make a posting.
I suppose it doesn't really make any difference to legit users but hopefully it will make bozo go away.
If any of you have forgotten your passwords please email me and I'll send you a new one.
