In Response To: Senior Drill Sergeant (James)

These two guys went AWOL at the beginning of the training cycle, but eventually they were captured and returned to us, but by then we had already finished our training.

The Senior Drill Sergeant came to the barracks that evening to see the escapees. He was kind of drunk and angry and he took them both into the laundry room, closed the door, and beat the living shit out of them.

He left them strewn on the floor in pools of blood, broken and battered. One of the other trainees had a Polaroid camera and he took incriminating photos of the scene.

It caused a big brouhaha the next day, when the Battalion Commander found out.

Fortunately for our Senior Drill Sergeant, there were no replacements available, so he didn't get relieved from duty, but these two were allowed to graduate with the rest of us, to keep them quiet. And here they are.

My training cycle was very unique for several reasons, the main one was that some parents of past trainees had recently gotten their Congressional representatives to crack down on the aggressive physical abuse that was going on at Fort Leonard Wood.
