Don't worry Delcey, I don't mind either one but I don't want to be confused with any other Jims, in Negril, Jamaica or where ever.
The name of my perfect Jamaican resort was stolen from Jennifer, whom I met at Home Sweet Home, when I was there for a week at the beginning of January 2005. The name of my Perfect Jamaican Resort is “Queen of the Island”, and it is a Resort Spa for women only. Your perfect visit to my spa begins at the airport where your personal host and one of our courteous drivers will meet you, inside the terminal.
After introductions, your luggage will be securely loaded onto the vehicle and you will be driven from Montego Bay to the Queen of the Island Spa, which is located on the West End, near Negril.
One of the first things you will notice is that the West End Road has been closed to automobiles and now the resorts on the road are served by a fleet of electric golf cart-like vehicles that run up and down the West End hauling tourists and their luggage.
The Queen of the Island Resort is located somewhere between The Rock House Resort and Home Sweet Home. It’s not very big, 25 or so rooms and suites, set out amid coral stone paths shaded by palms and Royal Poinciana Trees.
There’s a pool and several hot tubs scattered about the property. All of the rooms have private verandas that offer expansive views of the Long Bay and in the distance, the lovely Seven Mile Beach. Of course the sunsets are spectacular.
The resorts boasts a restaurant that offers guests an amazing variety of local dishes, emphasizing organically grown fruits and vegetables, fish pork and fowl dishes that take maximum advantage of the fresh bounty of Jamaica.
In addition to the restaurant there’s a small gift shop that offers guests a complete line of unique Queen of the Island Spa products, lotions, crèmes, oils and powders, all made in Jamaica from only the finest ingredients according to secret family recipes handed down from mother to daughter for generations, going all the way back to mother Africa.
The Queen of the Island Spa is world famous, offering an affordable relaxing and rehabilitative Jamaican experience for women only.
The resort employs a full-time staff of both men and women, we’re an equal opportunity employer and we pride ourselves on providing our female guests with “everything” their hearts might desire. And we mean “everything"...
Our cliff side location is secluded, private and secure. Quiet sun bathing, therapeutic massage and swimming is a favorite pastime but our resort water taxi is always available to our guests who wish to motor down to our “sister location” Queen of the Island Spa on the Beach, for a less quiet and more exciting environment.
Are you ready, Pam?
