It's snowing in Milwaukee...

...but what's new about snow in Milwaukee? It's been snowing off and on for the last two days but there isn't much accumulation, still I have to get out every few hours and scrape the snow off the sidewalk and spread around some salt.
I hate using salt but I don't have much choice, the sidewalk must be cleared sayeth the city ordinance.
Today my boss decided to pay me a short and always welcome visit and the painters are here and the new grout guy made a special appearance.
I'm also preoccupied with getting two apartments ready for new tenants who want to move in this weekend, so I've been very busy, but I also had time to watch most of Bush's speech and just a bit of the parade.
I was not impressed. I don't think he meant a word of what he said and his audience was not as numerous or responsive as I'm sure he thought they should be. Sorry.
His speech was delivered with his typical lack of conformity with good English grammar and his message was simple, broad, over-reaching, and totally impossible to achieve unless we plan on going into a perpetual state of war with the rest of the world.
I hope this isn't really his plan but his supporters seem excited about it so I guess they'll be doing the fighting.
It all left me feeling quite low and now I need to escape out into the cold whiteness and find a nice cozy place to drink some beers. My horoscope says I need to vanish this evening and so I shall.
Here's a pic of the beach. It's still there!
