If you have made the disk properly and the BIOS lets you boot from the CD-ROM you will see a screen asking you if you want to upgrade or install Mandrakelinux 10.1 so choose INSTALL.

Then you'll be asked to select your language so select ENGLISH.

Then you'll be asked to accept the License Agreement so select I ACCEPT.

Then again you will be asked if you wish to Upgrade or Install so choose INSTALL again.

Then you will be asked to select a Security Level. The default selection is STANDARD so just create a password for the Security Administrator and click NEXT. Don't forget to write the password down.

Now the hard drive will be formatted and partitioned. Select ERASE ENTIRE DISK and click on NEXT.

Then you'll be asked "again" about erasing the hard drive, so click on YES, and now the hard drive will be formatted and partitioned.

If your hard drive is really big it will take a while for this process to complete but if your hard drive is too small or something else is wrong with the hard drive the process will stop and you get to ask me a question.
