Well, they have to be open now because I took this pic 4 wseeks ago and they were open. I have a feeling that things are pretty busy in Negril right now and that most places must be open and doing well. With Ricks being rebuilt I'm sure a lot of other places took up the slack. Ricks should be rebuilt by now and it is just in time for the Breakers.
I didn't know that a lot of the Breaker hot spots in Florida no longer welcome them, and there have been some bad stories about American students vanishing in Mexico, so Jamaica should be seeing a nice increase in students this year.
I'd love to be on the beach right now or on a glass bottom boat out in the Long Bay, or sitting on the veranda of #11 at Home Sweet Home, having a Red Stripe. That would be nice. The things I don't miss is the really loud, really terrible music that everyone seems to be grooving to, and the constant pestering.
All of us took to the road more than usual on this trip because I like to check out different places to eat and drink or just hang out. We went to three places one day and all of them are places that advertise about their down home charm and I like to see it for myself, but this place had the music turned up so loud and it was this awful rap-reggae stuff, and we walked right into their yard and into the reception area and stood there for five minutes and when someone finally appeared they acted like we were intruding, so we just turned around and left.
